APPSC issues notification for 1,317 posts

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has issued notification for 1,317 posts under 10 categories.

Of this, 1,055 are under the Group III Panchayat Secretary Grade-IV AP Panchayat Secretary (Grade-IV) Syllabus and 78 posts under the Group I services.

APPSC Chairman P.Udaya Bhaskar speaking to media said the Commission proposed to complete the recruitment process in six months. The Commission has issued 22 notifications including notifications of today for 4,275 posts during the year. Notification were already issued for 2,958 posts and of this, 982 were Group II posts.

Uday Bhaskar said 6.5 lakh applications were received for Group II posts APPSC-Group II Examination Syllabus and the screening test would be held on February 26, 2017 and candidates would be screed at the ratio of 1:50. Approximately 50,000 candidates would qualify for the mains.

The Commission announced tentative selection list for the Group II service examination held in 1999 following the Supreme Court to complete the recruitment process held up due to court cases. ‘We called for willingness/relinquishment under rule 7 from all candidates and also objections by January 2 and after that the final lists would be prepared and sent to unit officers’, he said.


Last date for submission of applications for Group I

The processing of accepting applications for Group I begins from Saturday and the candidates can apply for the same up to January 30. The screening test/preliminary examination will be held on May 7. Negative marking will be there in the test and will be conducted in 13 districts centres. The main examination will be held in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati and Anantapur centres from August 17 to 27. The screening test comprises of 150 marks with focus on general studies and mental ability. The mains will include 5 papers including English.

Last date for submission of applications for Group III

The accepting of applications for Group III began from Saturday for filling up of 1055 Panchayat Secretaries posts. The applications will be accepted up to January 30 through online psc.ap.gov.in or http://appscapplications17.appsc.gov.in . The screening test will be held on April 23 and the mains will be on July 16 which is computerized basis. The screening test will have 150 marks. Negative marking system will be there for the tests. The main examination will comprise of 300 marks with Paper I with General Studies, Mental ability while the 2nd paper on Rural Development and problems in Rural areas.

  • Applications for Town Planning Assistant Director posts are beign accecpted from Saturday and will end on January 30. If the applications crosses over 25,000, a screening test will be conducted. The date for the test will be announced at a later time. The main examination will be held on April 5 and 6 that is computer based one. The examination will be held in Vijayawada and Guntur. The main examination comprising three papers with 150 marks each.
  • The last date for submission for Assistant Town Planner posts will be January 30. The main examination will be held on April 4 and 5 and the main examination will comprise of three papers with 150 marks each.
  • The last date for submission of Agricultural officer posts will end on January 30 and screening test will be there if needed while the mains will be held on April 4 with two papers with a total of 450 marks.
  • The last date for submission for Assistant BC Welfare, Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare officers posts ends on January 30 and the screening test will be held on June 18. The main examination will be held on September 21 and 22.
  • The main examination for Mining Roylaty inspector posts will be held on April 5.
  • The screening test for Hostel Welfare Officer posts will be held on June 11 and the mains on September 21.
  • The main examination for the post of Assistant Director of Fisheries will be held on May 4 and 5 and screening test will be held if needed.
