APHRC seeks report on Sivasree’s death

The AP State Human Rights Commission today has directed the city police to submit a detailed report over allegations made by Sivasree in a video recording before her death.

The complaint lodged by the AP Balala Hakkula Sangham, Hyderabad has been accepted by the Commission which directed the city police to submit a detailed report over the allegations by July 20.

Honorary President of APBHS, in the complaint alleged violation of child rights by the girl’s father, local politicians and an elected representative leading to her death. On the other hand, Opposition parties came forward in support of Sivasree and took part in the last rites. They placed the body of the girl near the house of the local MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao for a brief period and raised slogans against him.

Girl’s mother Sumasree along with Congress leaders Sunkara Padmasri, Malladi Vishnu, YSRCP leaders Vellampalli Srinivasa, V.Radha Krishna, D.Shankar of CPI, D.Kasinath of CPI(M) and others met the Commissioner of Police D.Gautam Sawang. Sumasree alleged that negligence on the part of her divorced husband and land grab by his men led to the death of the girl.
