AIIMS begins with induction of 50 MBBS students

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences has crossed a milestone with the induction of 50 member batch of the MBBS students at its temporary campus in the Siddhartha Medical College today.

AIIMS-M special officer T.S.Ravi Kumar, chief guest said the students should aspire to become great not just good physicians and discharge their obligation to society with humility and empathy. He exhorted the students to strive for the creation of healthy and happy communities which was the theme of the event.

Dr.Ravi Kumar inaugurated a state-of-the-art ‘Sushruta AIIMS lecture gallery of future’. A team of American Heart Association led by Sachin Menon and Gowtham gave a demonstration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation along with trainers from the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupati.

Dr.Kumar told the media that the OP department at Mangalagiri would be completed by early 2019 and the in-patient wing in 2020. An AMRIT Pharmacy and a Hind Lab, both run by the Central government would be set up during the same period.
