AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa release’s party manifesto

AIADMK general secretary J.Jayalalithaa on Thursday released her party’s manifesto for May 16 Assembly elections.

The salient features of the manifesto are::

  • All ration card holders will be given free mobile phones
  • 50 per cent subsidy on scooters to women
  • 100 units of free power to all households.
  • Green houses and group houses - 10 lakh houses will be built
  • Free bus travel facility for senior citizens will be extended to all districts
  • Churches and mosques will be given assistance for renovation
  • ARASU Cable TV will continue
  • Set top box will be given free of cost
  • WiFi at bus stands, complexes and parks
  • Gold for marriage assistance will be increased from 4 to eight grams
  • Vitamin A, D and iron tablets
  • Breakfast for schoolchildren in addition to noon meal
  • Women will be given driving training and subsidy will be given to buy autos
  • Drinking water will be supplied in all panchayats, town panchayats and municipalities
  • Amma special capital fund will be formed
  • Subsidy for small tea growers
  • Lokayukta will be formed
  • Maternity assistance leave will be increased to nine months
  • Technical institutes, vocational institutes will be set up
  • All panchayat unions will get two-wheeler mechanic training centres
  • Assistance to them to start mechanic shops
  • Government will pay educational loans for those unable to afford it
  • Amma banking card will be given
  • All bank transactions can be done, payments made and govt schemes availed with the help of the card
  • Relief to fishermen during no-fishing season will be hiked to Rs 5,000
  • Crop loan, short term and long-term loans will be waived for small and micro farmers
  • Pending dues from sugarcane companies will be given immediately
  • Copra will be purchased directly from farmers when prices go down
  • Irrigation canal, check dams and barrages will continue to be implemented
  • Avinashi - Athiadavu scheme will be implemented
  • Housing scheme for fishermen will be implemented
  • To spread ideals of Ambedkar, a Rs 5 crore Ambedkar memorial will be set up
  • Class 11 and 12 will continue to get free laptops with free internet connection
  • Free Amma kit, sanitary napkins will be given
  • Amma full body checkups will be expanded to all districts
  • CM's medical insurance scheme will continue
  • Maternity assistance will be hiked to Rs 15,000 from Rs 12,000
