ACB unearths disproportionate assets during raids on the Joint Secretary of GAD

Anti-Corruption Bureau officials today conducted raids on the properties of Karanam Venkata Ranga Sai Kumar, Joint Secretary in the General Administration Department in the Secretariat at Velagapudi and unearthed assets worth crores of rupees.

The Central Investigation Unit of the ACB formed ten teams and carried searches in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Guntur, Rajamahendravaram and Kadapa. They found properties registered in the names of Sai Kumar, his wife K.Subashini, mother Anjamm, brother K.Subramanyam Naidu, nephew Siddavatam Satyasimha and other benamis. They found one kg of gold and 10 kg of silver ornaments, Rs.20 lakh in cash, Rs.15 lakh in bank balances, Rs.16 lakh in fixed deposits and Rs.20 lakh worth private chits. He was taken into custody and would be produced before the ACB Court said ACB Director General R.P.Thakur.

The investigating agency unearthed plots and flats in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Kadapa and other places. The bank lockers are yet to be opened and the raids on still continuing.
