ACB traps Assistant Audit Officer

Officials of the ACB today caught red-handed Assistant Audit Officer Battula Rajendra at his office in Narasanna Nagar while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000 from a woman to sanction widow pension.

According to ACB officials, P.Padmavathi, who applied for pension could not get it despite visiting office several times. Rajendra reportedly demanded the bribe to get the work done. Based on her complaint, the ACB officials laid the trap and caught him red-handed.

A case was registered and investigation is on.
