ACB cases – New law on the cards on the attached properties

Director General of ACB R.P.Thakur said on Thursday that the State government would enact a law paving the way to sell or utilize the properties recovered during the raids.

Speaking to press, he said the government would seek permission from the special court to use the huge properties recovered in the disproportionate assets case to construct hospitals or for other welfare measures. If the accused is convicted, the properties would be sold, he said.

In cae of acquittal, the government could purchase it at5% total value and the law would come into force within one month, said the DG of ACB. He said that the department would have own buildings in all the 13 districts within one year and construction of Rajamahendravaram office would begin in a month. The construction of Tirupati office had been completed. The offices in Eluru and Viziangaram would be opened in this month.
