Anti-Corruption Bureau has on Wednesday arrested an Assistant Executive Engineer of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) K.V.V.Madhdav Rao for amassing wealth disproportionate to known sources of income.
The ACB team led by DSP Kinjarapu Ramakrishna Prasad conducted raids simultaneously at eight locations in the city including his residence at Dasapalla Layout, four residences of his brother and sister at Dabagardens, his driver’s residence and done residence of his friend.
The ACB seized documents pertaining to three flats located at Dasapalla Layout, Pendurthi and Yendada and four plots at Bheemunipatnam, Kothavalasa, Cheemudapalli and Dabagardens. Madhava Rao owns four houses at the upmarket Dabagardens area that included one two-storied building and three buildings with three floors. Two lockers were also seized that will be opened on Thursday. The ACB confiscated 20 tolas of gold ornaments, Rs.50,000 in cash and Rs.1 lakh in bank.
According to the ACB, the official value has already exceeded Rs.2 core and the market value could be around Rs.10 crore.
