The appointment of new teachers posts will begin from February 1, 2016 and the School Education Commissioner has finalized a schedule and sent to the government.
According to the schedule, the new teachers appointments will be given on Mach 5, 2016 for those selected under DSC-2014 for 8,086 undisputed posts. It may be recalled that a notification has been issued in November 2014 for filling up of 10,313 posts in Government, MPP, ZPP and Municipalities. As many as 7,057 Secondary Grade Teachers, 1,026 Basha Pandits, 1987 PET, 2033 School Assistants have to be filled up. The DSC was conducted on May 9, 10 and 11 and as many as 4,20,702 candidates have applied for and 3,97,294 have taken up the examinations. Originally, it is scheduled to take up the appointment process in June 2015 but could not do so due to various reasons and subsequent of filing cases in the courts. As many as 750 cases were filed in courts. Almost majority of the cases in High Courts and Tribunals were settled and judgments have to come in respect of school assistant posts. HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the government would fill up the posts except those pending in courts. As per the directions of the courts, 80 per cent of the posts would be filled up to locals according to reservations and 20 per cent under merit.
