As many as 350 medical seats that were cancelled by the Medical Council of India (MCI) for failure to comply with the rules relating to faculty and infrastructure are likely to be renewed after July 15.
The Medical Council of India has been asked by the Supreme Court to give them time till the above date to enable them to provide the necessary facilities. Sources said that the MCI may consider restoring the eats after conducting the mandatory inspections after July 15. It gives scope for all government medical colleges to make admissions through National Eligibility and Entrance Test-2 which is scheduled to be held on July 24.
The Supreme Court has directed the MCI to give additional time for compliance to augment the intake of students in MBBS courses.
