22-year-old teacher stabbed to death in a broad day light in the National Capital

A 22 year old school teacher Karuna was stabbed to death with a pair of scissors on a busy street of North Delhi’s Burari by her jilted lover on Tuesday morning while the people were watching silently without extending any help.

The killer identified as Surender Singh (34) son of a retired SI inflicted at least 30 stab wounds on the woman for over two minutes as he also repeatedly kicked her and pressed her neck to ensure she died. After three minutes of the assault that the bystanders were able to form a group and surround the killer. He was thrashed and handed over to the police. He has been hospitalized with severe injuries on his head.

The murdered woman Karuna lived with her parents and two younger brothers in Burari area where the accused too lives. The woman pursuing her degree in distance education has recently joined the Novel Reaches School as a teacher.

According to DCP (North) Mathur Verma, the accused Surender had been stalking and harassing Karuna for over a year even prompting her to report him to police around give months ago. The complaint had been withdrawn following a comprise between the two parties.

The DCP said that Surender has claimed that the deceased would meet him from time to time and claimed. He recently learnt that the deceased had shared some of her pictures with another youth. Unable to digest the same, he committed the murder, said the police officer.
