  • Employees plan to organize Chalo Commissionerate on February 1, 2016

Andhra Pradesh State Government is planning to entrust the job of maintenance of 104 Ambulance for Rural areas to private parties.

Already, the government has called for tenders twice but received no response. The Government has once again called for tenders on January 5, 2016 in which six companies have participated. The technical evaluation is going on and one out of those six will be selected and will be entrusted with 104 services. In this process, there is a threat of terminating of 1,670 contract employees working in it. These employees visit 18,191 villages every month and extend medical facilities to the poor and old aged people, pregnant women and children.

The move of the government gave a shock to the contract employees when they believed that their services will be regularized. They said that they are extending services to the poor people in villages on a fixed date for the past seven years. They said that on the basis of a committee report, the appointments have been taken up and instead of regularizing their services, the government plans to entrust to private players. They plan to organize ‘Chalo Commissionerate’ programme on February 1, 2016.
