12 TDP MLAs and 2 MLCs surrender gunmen in protest police registering a case against Tanuku MLA

Opposing the police registering a case against Tanuku TDP MLA Arimilli Radha Krishna, TDP party MLAs and MLCs of West Godavari district resolved to register their protest by surrendering their gunmen today.

Police headquarters asserted that elected representatives cannot send back their gunmen with oral orders. ‘It is not possible to withdraw the security unless the MLA/MLC concerned gives it in writing’, said the officials. The gunmen have been asked to be on security duty till further orders.

TDP worker obstructed the proceedings of the party’ general body meeting at Eluru demanding justice to the Tanuku MLA. The MLAs and MLCs expressed unhappiness over foisted cases against Radha Krishna.

Meanwhile, party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu has summoned the MLAs, MLCs, MPs and Ministers of the district to meet him on Tuesday.

It may be recalled that Radha Krishna was allegedly summoned by two police officers to his office at Iragavarm and abused them. The incident took place three day ago but came to light only when the State Police Officers Association took up the matter and demanded his arrest.

Tanuku rural police registered cases against the MLA and other on Friday on the charges of detaining a Sub Inspector and a station writer of Iragavarm at his party office in Velpuru of Tanuku rural mandal.
