YSRCP MLAs in an open letter to the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu clarified that they would attend the Assembly from today if the defected MLAs and Ministers are disqualified with immediate effect.

The MLAs dared the Chief Minister to disqualify the defected MLAs and Ministers and alleged that the Speaker who should act in an impartial manner is acting as a representative of TDP in taking action on defected representatives. They said that the TDP has encouraged the defection of MLAs numbering to 23 from YSRCP to TDP in a phased manner from February 2016 to 2017. They alleged that the defected MLAs were purchased by bribing Rs.30 crores to each MLA. The Speaker instead of taking action in accordance with the Constitution is acting at the directions of the Chief Minister and in such circumstances, ‘we are not in position to attend the Assembly sessions’, they said.
