‘Will bring another land scam to light’, says Vishnu Kumar Raju

Visakhapatnam North MLA and floor leader in the Legislative Assembly P.Vishnu Kumar Raju said that he would bring to light another land scam in the city in a fort night in which peoples’ representatives have direct links.

The MLA expressed doubts over the efficacy of the Special Investigation Team that was constituted to probe the scandal. Speaking to media, he said the gravity of the situation should be assessed by the Chief Minister to get the SIT dig deeper into details and expose the culprits. The fact that two Ministers viz, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Ch.Ayyanna Patrudu demanded an inquiry and he himself has raised the issued on the floor of Assembly.

‘Rules out CBI probe’, says Somireddy Chandramohan:: Minister for Agriculture Somireddy Chandramohan has ruled out the need for a CBI probe into the land scam stating that an inquiry by SIT is enough to expose the culprits. Speaking to media, he said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had faith in the CBI, he should first disclose his ill-gotten assets being scrutinized by CBI and then the State government would not hesitate to hand over the land cases to the investigating agency. He said that it had become a habit of criticizing the government for everything.

Konathala Ramakrishna petitions to Governor:: Former Minister Konathala Ramakrishna has urged the Government to recommend a CBI probe and direct the State government to protect the government and prvate lands. In a letter addressed to the Governor that was released to media, he said that the government was shielding key players in the scandal, particularly ruling party leader as a public hearing announced by one of the Deputy Chief Ministers was cancelled and ordered for a SIT probe. He said that land scandal covered over 10 mandals in the district and the value of land in Kommadi and Madhurawada alone valued at hundreds of crores of rupees.

‘Constitution of SIT a farce’, CPI(M)::The CPI (M) has termed the constitution of SIT a farce. It ridiculed the TDP’s decision to set up a three-member committee to inquire into the alleged differences between the party leaders. He said that the committee has nothing to do with the land scam but to settle the disputes within the party leaders.
