‘Temperatures in the State may cross 45 degrees Celsius during this summer’, warns IMD

The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of severe heat and heatwave conditions in many places across the State during this summer.

AP State Disaster Management Authority Relief Commissioner M.V.Seshagiri Rao released the brochures on dos and don’ts during this summer. He cautioned and asked peopled to take steps to prevent sunstroke death. In a joint press conference today, he and officials of IMD, AP Space Applications Centre and AP Development Planning Society warned that seven districts in the State are likely to face severe heatwave conditions.

Prakasam, Nellore, East and West Godavari, Guntur, Krishna and Visakhapatnam districts are prone to heatwave conditions in the current year. Heat waves may occur severely if low pressure is formed, he said.
