Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu commented ‘SC lo puttalani evaru koruknuntaru? (Who wish to be born in the SC community) drew flak form the Opposition parties on Tuesday. These comments of the Chief Minister made on Monday while criticizing caste politics.
Dalits from Prakasam district lodged a complaint with the Tangutur police station who alleged that the comments attracted section of the SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act. Meanwhile, YSRCP accused Chandrababu Naidu of insulting the Dalits and demanded his resignation. Party Koduru MLA K.Srinivasulu said that Chandrababu insulted Dalit community with his comments. All Dalit leaders feel ashamed about this and should question Chandrababu. I demand a case of SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act against him and he should hold the feet of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar and apologize’.
Chief Minister’s effigy burnt::The YSRCP SC cell activists demanding an apology from the Chief Minister burnt the effigy in Palcol of West Godavari and various parts of the State. Rasta rokos and dharnas were organized in protest against the Chief Minister’s comments. All political parties have condemned the comments and demanded withdrawal of the same and tender apology to Dalits.
Chandrababu gives clarification::
Chandrababu Naidu who was in Delhi on Tuesday said that his comment had been distorted. He said that he had said the SCs were the most backward community and no one wanted to be poor. They are trying to politicize it’, he clarified. TDP leader Varla Ramaiah said that some people are trying to misinterpret the comments made by Chandrababu and added that TDP has made a Dalit leader G.M.C.Balayogi, the Lok Sabha Speaker. He said that YSRCP is trying to mislead people.
‘Will knock the doors of court’, says Mala Mahanadu
Mala Mahanadu national president G.Chennaiah demanding immediate booking of an SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act said that they would go to court. Speaking to press, he said that Chandrababu Naidu is enjoying by creating difference between casts. He said that in earlier occasion, he created difference between Mala Madigas and recently in Kapus and BCs and demanded an unconditional apology. Madiga leader Manda Krishna Madiga while criticizing Chandrababu had said that Chandrababu lost his mental balance after the TDP’s debacle in GHMC polls and the Kapu agitation events.
