‘Rs.700 crores given for five institutions in four Budgets’, says Ganta Srinivasa Rao

AP HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has said that the Centre has sanctioned only five out of the seven national institutions it promised to the State.

He said that these institutions are functioning from private campuses. Foundation stone has been laid for these institutions. The budgetary allocations for these institutions were too meagre. He said that Rs.9,136 crore was to be allocated for the seven institutions, but the Centre had allocated a meagre of Rs.700 crore for the five institutions. The State government on its part had allotted Rs.2,460 acres for the five institution for providing necessary infrastructure.

On recruitments, he said 1,135 assistant professors would be recruited and weight-age would be given to the contract lecturers. The government will constitute committee with retired Vice-Chancellors and IAS officers to finalize the modalities of the recruitment to be made by the APPSC.

On TET, he said that it would be conducted from Wednesday to March 2 I two shifts- from 9.30am to 12 noon and 2.30pm to 5pm. Hence, the APPSC would conduct the DSC examination, he added.
