‘Rs.2,000 crore will be spent for road laying in the next three years’, says Ravela

The Minister for Social and Tribal Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu participating in ‘Chandranna runa mela’ at government junior College Grounds in Parvathipuram on Wednesday said that the government would spend Rs.2,000 crore for laying approach and internal roads to villages in scheduled areas in the next three years.

The minister inaugurated 168 works taken up at a cost of Rs.23.49 crore and distributed assets worth Rs.14.35 crore to 12,682 beneficiaries. He said that 111 of the 300 targeted students were sent abroad for higher education under Dr. Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi and also imparting special coaching for SC/STs. He said that coffee processing would be done through Girijan Cooperative Corporations and Rs.520 crore would be earmarked for the Araku coffee project. He said that honey processing unit at Rajahmundry, 13 petrol bunks across the State and maintenance of 326 Fair Price Shops would be done through Girijan Cooperative Corporation.

Ravela has sanctioned Rs.1.35 crore each for 13 Girijan Bhavans and also promised to release grants in three phases for construction of I-toilets in all ST hostels in the State. He also sanctioned Ambedkar Bhavan to be built at an estimated cost of Rs.75 lakh for Parvathipuram.
