Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu today said Amaravati will have nine pollution-free cities and 27 townships. Only electric vehicles will run here. For a zero-emission transport and to preserve greenery, it is imperative, he said.
Addressing a meeting associated with the inauguration of the initial two blocks (academic and hostel) of VIT at Inavolu near here, he expressed gratitude to Vice President M.Venkaiah Naidu for sanctioning five lakh houses for the urban poor when he was Union Minister. The houses will be built by elections, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu said that about 14 medical colleges with attached hospitals would come up at Amaravati. The best schools will be here in the next few years, he said. Student phase in the most important time of life as it is a mix of fun, enjoyment and career building. I want parents to gift good education to their children instead of giving them property which they will anyway earn once they are well educated, he said.
