‘Obscene and irresponsible posts will not be tolerated’, Chandrababu Naidu

Chandrababu Naidu made his intention open and what he called irresponsible and obscene posts on social media platforms will not be tolerated. Responding to a question by journalists on the functioning of ‘Parishkara Vedika’ on Friday, Chandrababu said callers have to identify themselves with Aadhaar numbers lest individuals who think they can get away with their undesirable postings would be encouraged to do so. ‘There are people who misuse the social media with political motives and some do it anonymously. Such actions should be controlled and action taken against the culprits’, he said.

Meanwhile, DGP N.Sambasiva Rao in Visakhapatnam said action would be initiated against all who post objectionable content against any person or any social media site. He said that people should behave like responsible citizens and not use any form of social media platforms or Internet sites to post matters that may be objectionable to others. He confirmed that Ravi Kiran was arrested under Section 67 of the IT Act and action would be taken if proved. These came following the arrest of Graphic designer arrested Ravi Kiran for posting objectionable content in FB against Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh.

He alleged that they were trying to gag the social media. It was the very social media that helped Chandrababu Naidu spread cancards against YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy during 2014 elections, he said.
