The State government has no plans for upward revision of power tariff in the State.
The government was implementing second wave of power sector reforms with a view to providing quality power at a cheaper rates sid Minister for Energy Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao. He was making a statement in the Assembly on ‘Energy situation in the State of Andhra Pradesh’ raised under Rule 344 by Kondapalli Appalanaidu and some others today.
He said that the government invested Rs.30,000 crore to improve the power supply generation. As much as 5,090 MW of solar and wind power had been added since 2014. The peak load factor had also improved significantly since 2014. The TDP government took the PLF to 86% from 68% during the rule prior to 2004. Likewise, Transmission and Distribution losses were brought down to 9.77% which was the lowest in the country. The government had set a target of achieving the international standard of 4% T&D losses, he said. Two pilot projects would come in Nellore and Vizianagaram districts soon, he added.
