‘Jagan unveils another resignation drama to dilute his cases’, alleges TDP

The Telugu Desam Party today dubbed the decision of the YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy’s announcement of resignation of its MPs if SCS is not granted by April 6.

The TDP dubbed it as ‘another resignation drama’ by him to bargain with the NDA government to dilute cases against him. It felt that it need not strike such a belligerent posture against the Centre keeping the State’s interests in view. The TDP core committee with Chief Minister in the chair today discussed the possible fallout of YSRCP resignation plans to built a case against the BJP brick-by-brick saying a raw deal was meted out to the State in the Union Budget.

It may be recalled that Jagan Reddy announced that a protest would be organized at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on March 5 coinciding with the deadline set by Chandrababu Naidu for the Union Government to come out with a time-bound action plan for implementation of the AP Re-organization Act. The core committee dissections primarily focused on YSRCP’s threat of resignations. It said that the TDP protests should be continued to fight for our rightful share in the budget and implementation of the Reorganization Act in letter and spirit’, said Minister for Agriculture Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Transport Minister K.Atchannaidu.

The committee pointed out that Jagan never linked SCS to GST nor to election of President and Vice-President. They said that Jagan bothered about finding ways to wriggle out the CBI and ED cases rather than espousing the cause of AP, it said. The State government settled for a special package in lieu of the SCS as the Centre has categorically stated that the SCS was not possible. ‘We have been fighting for implementation of special package in the Parliament’, said Naidu at a meeting.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP said that it will not stop its agitation until the State is granted SCS. Ambati Rambabu said that the party MPs are ready to resign or make any other sacrifice for it, he said at a press conference. He said that Jagan had always been stressing on the SCS for development while the ruling party was trying to bury it. Instead of lauding the decision, the TDP leaders were trying to belittle it by referring to it as drama.
