‘Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities’ has been enhanced to Rs.20 lakh

Telangana State Government has today enhanced the scholarship grant for minority students pursuing abroad higher education under Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities has raised to Rs.20 lakhs from Rs.10 lakhs.

The fee will be payable in two equal instalments. The first one on production of landing permit and the second upon production of the first semester results said Deputy Chief Minister Mohd.Mahmood Ali at a press conference on Tuesday. He said that full reimbursement would be extended irrespective of the rank of the student.

It may be recalled that the government has introduced the scheme to benefit the Minority students whose family income is less than Rs.2 lakh per annum from all sources are eligible. Students seeking to avail the facility, the total income from all sources of employed candidates of his/her parents/guardians should not exceed Rs.2 lakh per annum. In other cases, Income Certificate from Mee Seva must be obtained. Details can be had on http://telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in/

The upper age limit for the students shall not exceed 35 years as on July 1, 2016. One way fare shall be paid to the selected candidates.

Qualification:::(1) For Post Graduate Course: 60% marks or equivalent grade in foundation Degree in Engineering / Management / Pure Sciences / Agriculture Sciences / Medicine and Nursing / Social Sciences / Humanities. (2) For Ph.D. Courses: 60% marks or equivalent grade in P.G. course in Engineering / Management / Pure Sciences / Agriculture Sciences / Medicine / Social Sciences / Humanities.
