‘Amaravati declaration by June’, says Speaker

AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao said that ‘Amaravati Declaration’ will be prepared and handed over to the State government by the end of June.

Speaking at a press conference, he said a core committee under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary (R&B) Sumita Dawra and an advisory committee were working on the same. Government officials, representatives of NGOs, professors and industrialists were members of the committee. He said that the Declaration will be a guiding lamp for any government which has plans for women empowerment.

The National Women’s Parliament was supposed to adopt a resolution named ‘Amaravati Declaration for Women Empowerment’ on the last day of the three-day conference.

GST Bill in the next month:: Kodela Sivaprasada Rao said that the GST Bill is likely to be held in mid-May. He said that the Union government has to publish the GST Bill in the Gazette, the special session would be convened. With the President Pranab Mukherjee signing four enabling Bills related to the Goods and Services Tax into law, the State government has to pass the State GST Bill.
