Hyderabad, September 26, 2008

The Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy expressed dissatisfaction over the laxity of the Hyderabad Police in preventing the attack on the Corporate office of Lanco by activists of TRS. He ordered the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, B Prasada Rao to initiate action against the officials concerned.

The Commissioner immediately transferred the Inspector of Banjara Hills police station, E Shankar Reddy under whose jurisdiction, the Lanco's office situated. Congress MP of Vijayawada L Rajagopal is associated with the company. The Commissioner said that the Inspector could have averted the attack and his response to the incident was rather late and resulted in law and order problem. Departmental action would also initiated against the Sub Inspector and Banjara Hills ACP.

A high level meeting convened to review the incident. The DGP, SSP Yadav sought details about the attack from the Police Commissioner. A senior official would inquire into the attack on the Lanco office and fix up the responsibility over failure of police in preventing the incident. Malakpet Inspector was transferred and posted in the place of Shankar Reddy.
