Renowned speakers to be present at the four-day event

In order to disseminate awareness on disaster management, the Disaster Management Infrastructure and Control Society will organize the first World Congress on Disaster Management 2008 in Hyderabad on October 32. The four-day event will be organized in association with the Central and State Governments and NGOs will be held at the National Academy of Construction.
The Chairman of the steering committee and DRDO Chief Controller (R&D) Dr. Prahlada speaking to media persons said that the congress would provide a common platform to discuss and plan disaster preventive measures and disseminate information to a wide section of society.
Dr Prahlada said that the former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, National Disaster Management Authority Vice-Chairman General NC Vij will be present at the inauguration. Union Minister for Science and Technology Kapil Sibal will be at the valedictory function on October 24. Eminent scientists, academicians and administrators from India and different countries are expected to deliver talks on 100 technical papers.
