22 passenger injured and rushed to the government hospital
Hyderabad, May 2, 2008An APSRTC bus from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad fell into a canal, near Kesarapalli village in Krishna district in the wee hours leaving 22 persons injured. The incident occurred around 3.30am when the passengers are in sleep. The injured were rushed to the Government Hospital here.
Three of them received fractures and are undergoing treatment according to the RMO Shalini Devi. Driver Gandraju Suryanarayana Raju of Visakhapatnam I depot was injured. The APSRTC authorities rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the news. They shifted the injured to the hospital.
Alternative arrangements have been made for other passengers to reach their destinations. APSRTC Regional Manager, M Sitapati said that an ex gratia ranging from Rs.500 to Rs.2000 was paid to those who were injured in the incident.
