New mine proof vehicle for Chief Minister

Security beefed up in view of threats

Hyderabad, May 14, 2008

With the increasing threat to the life of the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy from Left wing ultras and terror groups, the State Government procured a bullet and mine proof mini bus to be used by the Chief Minister in the elections. He is already in the hit list of Naxals and other terror groups.

The security which was alarmed over the intelligence inputs has acquired the specially designed mini bus which is both bullet proof and mine proof. To address the roadside meetings, the Chief Minister need not come out of the vehicle. A bullet proof glass enclosure pops out of the roof of the vehicle from which he would be able to address the public.

The mini van has all the facilities. It has beds, writing table, wireless communication system, television and toilet. The fully air conditioned vehicle would be pressed into service from tomorrow when he launches campaign for the May 29 by polls from Chevella in Ranga Reddy district.
