Hyderabad, March 6, 2008Speaking to media after a meeting with the Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad, Senior party member Kadiyam Srihari said that his only intention was to say that Naidu will become Chief Minister again if the TDP takes a pro-Telangana stand. However, several seniors felt that he had a personal agenda for his sudden outburst. According to incidents, Srihari is worried about his political future from Station Ghanpur constituency in Warangal district in the wake of resignations of TRS MLAs. The constituency is represented by TRSLP leader G Vijaya Rama Rao. In addition, Telangana sentiment is considered to be very strong in Warangal.
The sudden outburst of Srihari did not go well with his party senior colleagues. Coming to the support of Naidu, sever senior leaders from Telangana region who are strongly opposing Telangana State, wanted the party president to take action against him. Speaking to media persons, senior leader Nagam Janardhana Reddy said that his is not an appropriate time for Srihari to talk on Telangana issue. Party Politburo member HY Ramakrishnudu said that it was not fair on the part of Srihari to go the media.
In a related development, TRS hailed the statements of Srihari and even invited him to take part in separate Telangana Agitation. In Delhi, TDP leader K Yerran Naidu said that though the party has opposed creation of separate Telangana State in its letter to Pranab Mukharjee Committee, there is a scope for review of such decisions. He said, Srihari being a senior leader should not have gone to media that would affect the party's interests.
