TRS President rules out tie-up with Congress in by-polls

Inaugurates Atmagourava Ratham

Hyderabad, March 30, 2008

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhara Rao ruled out the possibility of forging an alliance with the ruling Congress in the ensuing by-elections. Referring to the statement of PCC president D Srinivas that the Congress was still considering TRS as an old friend.

Chandrasekhara Rao lambasted the ruling party for hoodwinking the people of Telangana after 2004 elections. Speaking to media persons after inaugurating Atmagourava Ratham, a bus with modern facilities arranged for his forthcoming tour in the region said that there is no question of the TRS having an electoral tie up with the Congress this time.

He disputed the remarks of Srinivas that the Congress had never promised separate Telangana in the last elections, the TRS president commented that it was a shame the PCC president was talking against his own conscience. He also charged the Congress and the TDP have reached a clandestine agreement to defeat the TRS in the by-polls. He said that the people will teach them a befitting lesson to them.
