Chief Minister directs officials to ensure quality service

Hyderabad, March 30, 2008

The Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy has asserted that free power will continue for the farm sector till the farmers say they are willing to pay the power tariff. The Government will not go back on its promise of supplying of free power, he said during an interaction with the newly appointed Chairman and Managing Director of APTransco Ajeya Kallam on Sunday.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure that quality service was provided to the consumers in view of the growing demand. More service centres should be opened to cater the needs of the consumers.

The CMD of AP Transco said that it is coming out with an action plan shortly to improve its functioning to provide better services to the urban and rural areas. Th APTransco CMD said plans were afoot to increase power generation with commissioning of new power plants.
