Rs. 60 lakh worth of assets unearthed
Hyderabad, March 29, 2008The officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today conducted raids on the residences of J Lakshmana Rao, senior assistant in Commercial Tax Office in Kurnool and his relatives and unearthed assets worth over Rs.60 lakhs.
According to a press release, the total assets include 44 plots, a two storeyed building, 1 shop all in Kurnool, 3 motor cycles, one kg of gold ornaments, LIC insurance worth Rs.1 lakh. The accused officer will be arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases, Hyderabad.
In another case, simultaneous searches were conducted on the residences of G Venkata Rami Reddy, Deputy Executive Engineer, RWS, Ongole and his relatives in Nellore and Ongole and seized assets all worth over Rs.35 lakhs today. The assets include 10 plots, two houses, one shop in Nellore, one motorcycle, one scooter, 10 tolas of gold, cash Rs.9,000, LIC insurance worth Rs.2.3 lakh and household articles worth Rs.2 lakhs. The accused officer is arrested. The ACB officials produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases at Nellore.
