Nearly 1.17 lakh employees to cast vote in the elections
Hyderabad, March 26, 2008The APSRTC union elections are going to be held on Thursday. Nearly 1.17 lakh employees are likely to cast their vote in the elections. The elections will be held from 5am to 6pm and the results will be announced on April 15.
There is a severe contest between the National Mazdoor Union (NMU) Employees union and Staff and Workers Federation (SWF). However, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh will independently contesting in the elections. The main contest is between NMU and SWF. Meanwhile, Supervisory union, SC and ST Welfare association, paramedical unions expressed their solidarity to NMU.
The National Mazdoor Union leader Nageswara Rao expressed confidence that it will come to power again while SWF general secretary expressed the same confidence.
