Chief Minister hopes that it will set a new trend in Journalism

The Governor of Andhra Pradesh, ND Tiwari on Sunday launched the new Telugu Daily 'Sakshi', with 23 multi colored editions amidst a laser show and choreographic depiction of the evolution and growth of the news paper over the centuries. The daily is brought out by Jagati Publications of which YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy is the chairman.
Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy hoped that it would set a new trend in journalism and tell the truth without any distortion. Chairman, Administrative Reforms Commission, M Veerappa Moily who launched the political pages stressed the important role played by newspapers. CPI leader K Narayana wanted it to serve social cause with dedication while BV Raghavulu of CPI-M hoped that the people would be central to the newspaper. B Dattatreya, State BJP president urged the management to be impartial in projecting news and facts.
Many prominent personalities like B Ramalinga Raju of Satyam Computer Services Ltd., N Srinivasan, Vice-chairman and Managing Director, India Cements Ltd., firm stars Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and sports persons P Gopichand and Mithali Raj launched the web edition, business pages, glamor, women's sports pages respectively. The international pages were unveiled by Rani Reddy of Ogilvy and Mather.
