54 IAS offices get new postings

Hyderabad, March 23, 2008

After the Congress came to power in 2004, the State Government has in a major reshuffle transferred as many as 54 IAS officers and given them new postings. In the new set up, key departments like Finance, AP Transco, AP Genco, Agriculture and Transport have new heads now. It is perceived that the government took up the elaborate exercise in view of the code of conduct that would come into force once the notification for by election to Assembly and Lok Sabha seats is issued.

The new look set up has IVR Krishna Rao as Principal Secretary for the Finance Department that fell vacant after P Ramakanth Reddy had been transferred sometime ago as Chief Commissioner, Land Administration. Rachel Chatterjee, who has been the Chairman and MD of AP Transco for more than four years has been transferred to Social Welfare Department. Ajeya Kallam, Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Cooperative Department will e the new Chairman and Managing Director of AP Transco. SV Prasad, Principal Secretary in the Revenue department will be the chairman of the AP Genco. J Ramachand has been posted as Principal secretary, Transport in place Chitra Ramachandran.
