The party moved an adjournment motion on the issue in the Assembly but the Speaker KR Suresh Reddy disallowed it.
TDP MLAs stalled the proceedings forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House for fifteen minutes. Later speaking to media, the TDP deputy leader in the Assembly T Devender Goud pointed out that the domestic terminal in the Begumpet Airport was named after the late NT Rama Rao. The ruling government has deliberately dropped the name of Rama Rao he charged.
Terming it as in insult to Telugu price, Goud said that the TDP cadres will obstruct the inaugural function. He also sought to know in what capacity Congress president Sonia Gandhi was invited to open the airport. The TDP will come back to power in the next elections and rename the international airport after Rama Rao, he asserted.
