Missing complaint registered
Hyderabad, March 11, 2008Making mockery of State Government care and support, 24 girls fled from the Government Rescue Home in Kukatpally today. These girls aged between 18 to 20 were rescued from flesh trade in Delhi a month ago during the police raids. Among them majority belong to coastal Andhra and few from Maharashtra region. They were found missing today and enquired by the authorities revealed that the girls cut the grills of a window with a saw blade and escaped in the wee hours. The warden of the Home lodged a complaint with the police.
Rehabilitation of these girls was taken as a challenge by the Government. Even the Union Minister for Women and Child Deployment Renuka Chowdary who was recently in the city for the launch of the health camp for women in KIMS, planned to visit the Home along with member of SAARC Chamber of Women Entrepreneurs Council. But the scheduled was cancelled at the last minute.
According to the Kukatpally Inspector Radesh Murali said that a missing complaint was registered and police teams are in search of these missing girls. The police are questioning the security personnel of the Home, he said.
