TRS MLA Harish Rao meeting with Chief Minister raises eyebrows

Harish Rao says that there is no personal agenda

Hyderabad, June 2, 2008

A meeting of the TRS MLA from Siddipet T Harish Rao with the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Monday after the counting of votes for the by elections raised several eyebrows.

The meeting fueled a debate about its political significance in the light of the TRS president Chandrasekhara Rao remaining out of reach for everyone. Harish Rao presented a bouquet to the Chief Minister. Highly placed sources says that the Chief Minister remarked to Harish Rao that his party's failure to effectively utilize the services of young leaders like him across the region had compounded its woes. In this context, it may be noted that Harish Rao is the nephew of TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao and learnt to have appreciated the Chief Minister for acknowledging that the Telangana sentiment was not defeated and the doors for a patch up with TRS were always open.

It is said that Harish Rao met the Chief Minister urging him to sanction a Government Women's Degree College in Siddipet constituency. It is understood that the meeting lasts nearly one and half hours. Responding to the Siddipet MLA's request for sanction of another college, it is learnt that the Chief Minister expressed that it is difficult to create a new college but additional section would be created in the existing college and asked him to meet after one week.
