Hyderabad, June 19, 2008

Speaking to media persons after participating in a blood donation camp on the occasion of the 38th birthday of AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today, he said that it was not new for Congress to fight elections alone. He said that there is nothing wrong what the Chief Minister says.

Srinivas however declined to comment on the Telangana boiling in TDP and said that the political scenarios of 1982 and that which is now present are completely different and that the political space and vacuum created at that time has made people vote and bring the TDP into power as an an alternative to the Congress party. He said that no such political space exists for Chiranjeevi to take advantage of. He opined that in the public eye the contest for the upcoming elections will still very much be between the Congress and the TDP.
