To address a public meeting at Nizam College grounds

Hyderabad, January 5, 2008

Bahujan Samaj Party leader and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati arrive on Saturday to attend a public meeting scheduled on January 6 at Nizam College grounds. She arrived here from Lucknow and drove strait to a five star hotel in Banjara Hills where she will be staying. Meanwhile, the entire TRS party except Narendra will be joining in the BSP in the presence of the UP Chief Minister at Nizam College grounds where the meeting takes place.

Soon after the meeting with Mayawati, A Narendra told to media that he would not be joining the party now for technical reasons but would extend support from outside. He explained that his party was merging with the BSP with a view to achieving Telangana. He added that she was the first leader to have written to the UPA sub committee headed by Pranab Mukharjee in support of separate Telangana.

He dubbed imaginary the speculation that Chiranjeevi was likely to meet the BSP leader. In response to a question, he said that Pavan Kalyan's meeting with the State BSP leaders is only to ascertain the party's ideology and commented that it was a closed chapter.
