Arrested on charges of disproportionate assets
Hyderabad, January 25, 2008The officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs.65 lakh belonging to A Venkata Ranga Reddy, Principal, AP Social Welfare Residential College at Ghanpur of Warangal district. Simultaneous searches conducted over the residences of the accused officer revealed that he owned five plots, five flats, 26.15 acres of agricultural land a shop and Rs. 75,000 in cash.
The officials also seized promissory notes worth Rs.16.40 lakhs, LIC premium worth Rs.80,000, bank balance worth Rs.60,000 in different banks and 10 tolas of gold ornaments and costly house hold articles.
He was arrested and is being produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad. The ACB officials conducted a surprise check at Rajanagaram of East Godavari district and seized Rs.11,000 from three private persons who earlier worked as document writers and they are working as agents for the registrar according to a press release.
