Hike from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakhs

On Monday, the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy agreed in principle to a proposal hiking the treatment cost for those insured under Employees State Insurance scheme in the State from Rs.1 lakh to Rs.2lakh for major ailments referred to Super Specialty Hospitals.
According to a press release said that the move will bring those covered by the ESI scheme on a par with the State Government staff for major ailments referred to super specialty hospitals.
The Chief Minister also agreed tin principle to remove the ceiling on super specialty case referred to the Nizam’s and Sri Venkateswara Institutes of Medical Sciences. He gave a green signal for upgradation of the ESI hospitals from 50 to 100 beds.
