Srisailam Devastanam Trust Board making arrangements
Kurnool, January 20, 2008The Srisailam Devastanam Board has decided to set up one additional queue line apart from the two existing for the ensuring Mahasivaratri Bramhostavams in the backdrop of stampede at Indrakeeladri temple in Vijayawada where six devotees had died in the recent festival. The Devastanam officials are gearing up for the smooth conduct of Bramhostavams to be held from February 28 to March 9.
The Temple Executive Officer T Sivaji held a meeting with the temple officials to discuss about the arrangements. He stressed the need for setting up additional queue lines in view of the huge turnout of devotees. These queues will be for general darshan, seeghra darshan and Sivadeeksha queue.
Authorities said that nearly 12 lakh devotees from different parts of the State are expected to take part in the Brahmostavams. The temple officials have decided to suspend all arjitha sevas, including abishekam of the main deity, kumkum puja to Sri Ammavaru, Rudra homam. The District Collector M Dana Kishore will hold a coordination meeting on January 28 with various departments and review arrangements.
