Barely a day after Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy said that the Congress was prepared to go it alone in the next elections, APCC President D Srinivas, on his part, came up with a statement that the door of the party are always open to all opposition parties except the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Bharateeya Janatha Party (BJP).

The senior Congress leader and Working Committee Member G Venkataswamy called on the youth to launch an agitation to curb bureaucratic corruption that has attained serious proportions. However, he refused to talk about the political corruption.

Speaking at a media conference here, he said corruption was nothing new to the society. However, it was attaining serious proportions, he opined. It should be checked so that the benefits should reach the needy. On Chiranjeevi's entry into politics, he opined that it would affect the prospects of other political parties.
