Terlam election likely to be held along with Khairatabad election
Vijayanagaram, January 11, 2008By elections to Terlam Assembly constituency in the district will be announced any time. The elections are necessitated by the demise of MLA T Jayaprakash. The Terlam elections may be conducted along with of Khairatabad where MLA P Janardhana Reddy died recently.
Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu who visited Terlam recently to console the family of the bereaved family of Jayaprakash assured that one of his family would be considered to carry on the political legacy of Jayaprakash. In all probability, Jayaprakash's son Lakshmi Naidu may step in and his candidature is being favored by local leaders in view of his good educational background.
Meanwhile, Tilak, the son of Vasireddy Varada Rama Rao of Congress is likely to be considered for nomination. H last to Jayaprakash in the last Assembly elections had become an MLC in the Legislative Council elections and will remain for six years. A proposal to leave Khairtabad to Congress and Terlam to TDP is also under consideration as the both the parties which will ensure win unopposed and things are yet to take a concrete shape.
