Asks officials to create awareness on rural industries
Hyderabad, January 10, 2008The MP B Jhansilakshmi inaugurated the Khadi and and Rural Industry product cum sale at Revenue Kalayanamandapam here on Thursday. She called upon the officials to create awareness on rural industries to encourage unemployed youth.
Speaking to media, she said that though the government was providing several subsidies to set up rural industries, there was no response from the unemployed youths. She said rural industries would not only provide livelihood to the entrepreneurs but also other who work in the industry. Khadi and Rural Industries Board director K Krishna Swamy said that the government had sanctioned Rs.14.5 crore subsidy for rural industries in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari districts. He said that the objective is to empower the youth and support them to establish rural industries.
He said that the Government was releasing margin money to encourage Khadi and Rural Industries to beneficiaries who invest 10 percent of the establishment cost. Additional margin money of five percent will be released for SC, ST,OBC, women and physically handicapped. Vizianagaram MLA K Veerabhadra Swamy DIC General Manager B Gopalakrishna and other top officials participated in the inaugural function.
