Sonia Gandhi asks PCC chief information on Telangana
Hyderabad, February 8, 2008Speaking to media today, the Telanagana Rashtra Samithi president, K Chandrasekhara Rao demanded the Congress high command to clarify whether it was interested in carving out Telananga Stat at all.
He said that people of Telanagana will not satisfy for nothing less than a separate State. He added that doubts were lingering in the minds of the people with reports coming that the core committee meeting attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been considering to offer some package for the development of the region. Referring to several vacancies in Wakf Tribunal, he demanded the Government to fill all the vacancies within one week to prove its commitment towards to minorities.
Meanwhile, the Congress High command is keenly observing the developments in regard to Telangana and making enquiries with the leaders from the State on the possible fall out. It is clear with the AICC president, Sonia Gandhi asking acting PCC president GS Rao to furnish details about Telangana.
