Bus services in East Godavari region to be equipped services from Ugadi
Rajahmundry - East Godavari, February 5, 2008
As a part of its efforts to woo the public, the APSRTC East Godavari region has decided to introduce FM Radio and Coin Collection Boxes in its services from this Ugadi. The RTC services would be equipped with the two facilities and commuters can travel by listening to music, songs and also make phone calls during journeys, said the corporation officials.
The facilities will be provided in all 750 services in East Godavari Region including long journeyed ones. The main aim is to compete with the private transport operators. The Coin collection boxes will be fixed near the conductor or driver seats.
The APSRTC authorities will invite tenders for fixing coin collection boxes and te management expects Rs.1.25 crore per annum in the district. The authorities are trying to award the contract to the bidders who offer the highest commission. The APSRTC will get a maximum 40 percent from coin collection boxes.
