Hyderabad, February 3, 2008

In protest against the controversial remarks made against the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy by Chegondi Harirama Jogaiah, MP, Congress workers on Sunday raided his house and broke window panes and flower pots. In an interview, he had charged that the government was stepped in corruption with 15 percent of the allocated funds for the irrigation projects being misused. He even went on to allege that the Chief Minister, Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy is also a beneficiary.

Angered over his remarks, nearly one hundred slogan shouting party men barged into the apartment where Jogaiah resides and indulged in arson. They wanted the MP to resign from the Lok Sabha and the party if he did not wish to be with the Congress.

The protesters burnt the effigy before the Madhapur police who wished them away. This is the second incident that the Congress people targeted at the MP. He and another flat owner Ravi Kumar, whose house was also, suffered damaged lodged separate complaints. Twenty-three persons were taken into custody and a case under section 147, 448, 407 and 506 was booked against the protesters. Meanwhile, others should not repeat the Chief Minister who is in Delhi condemned the attack on the residence of Jogaiah saying one mistake committed by someone.
